This photo is my favorite sports photo of all-time. It’s C/LB Chuck Bednarik standing over Giants RB Frank Gifford after he tackled him (and essentially ended his football career). It was a game-saving tackle, to which after he made the tackle, Bednarik famously said, “This fucking game is over!”

Bednarik is my favorite football player of all-time even though I never saw him play. Not just because he was a Philadelphia Eagle, but because he was the last 60-minute man to play in the NFL (to play both offense and defense). He was the last of the true football warriors to play in the NFL, and he is the ultimate bad ass. When your nickname is “Concrete Charlie”, you know you’re doing something right.
